
The Planning Department is responsible for issuing Building Permits, setting up and regulating Building Inspections, code enforcement, and implementing and regulating planning and zoning for the City.
Building Permits are required for commercial and residential sites for new construction, alterations, additions, signage, storage buildings, and swimming pools. Complete plans must be submitted to the Planning Department for review and compliance before a permit will be issued.
Building Inspections are required when a permit is pulled.
All Electrical and Heating & Air Contractors must take a test through our office and pass, pay a $30.00 License fee, provide a $10,000 licensing bond, and certificate of insurance to do work in the City limits of Lebanon. Plumbing Contractors must register with our office; pay a $25.00 License fee, a copy of your State of Indiana State Plumbing License, provide a $10,000 licensing bond, and certificate of insurance.
